Hey ok I'm back. It's 31 degrees C (88 degrees F) here in London, which means it's about 85 degrees in my office. This, combined with the fact that all of our Directors are out (either sick or on vaca), makes it near impossible to do work, so I'll do some blog catching up instead.
Back in March, V, Amrit, Amrit's flatmate and I went to Katy Perry. She was playing at the Hammersmith Apollo which is a REALLY small venue. It can hold up to 5,000. We thought it would be a really fun place to see her concert. So we went!
The concert was awesome. We got there and the line was around the building. Our tickets were standing tickets in the pit so we were a little nervous at first when we saw so many people, but when we got in there was still tons of room. Rather than push our way as front as possible, we stood in the back - perfectly positioned between the bathroom, the bar, and a back wall to lean on. I wore my new American flag dress:
The opening act was not so great. They were a french techno-y band. The lead singer made the mistake of saying "We are from Paris..Ze greatest city in ze world!" That did not go down well. But once they were gone, the lights went down. You know you're old when you're at a concert lights go down and everyone around you pushes forward, and all of you just look back at your bags to make sure they are still there. Oh well...welcome to mid life! At least I had one of the best outfits at the concert!
Katy put on an awesome show! She was very entertaining, and she was great live! I'd highly recommend the concert if you have a chance to go.
