Monday and Tuesday had me off to work, but we did meet up with Chris and Allison for dinner and drinks after work on Monday. We went for Thai which was really good and then hit a pub for a few drinks. Mike and Liz were starting to see a pattern with my friends. Just because they are married doesn't mean they aren't just as crazy as I am.
Wednesday we headed to Bath where Liz might be making a home for a year starting in September which would be great, because she'd only be 90 minutes away! The baths were awesome and the town was really cute! Thursday we continued our tourist journey to the British Museum (the best museum I've been to in a while) and the Imperial War Museum. When any man steps through those doors I'm pretty sure they revert back to a 13 year old boy.
Thursday night Liz went out with a friend who goes to college here in London and Mike and I met up with Marita. She convinced us to go to a pub that is outside the stage door of Avenue Q's theater because she is obsessed with the show. Despite her insanity, she is hysterical, so we had a good time. So good of a time that Mike and I didn't leave the house until about 2 pm the next day. We wandered around a bit, hit a few sights, and eventually headed to my friend Cam's house for really good home made Mexican!
Saturday we laid low, still were pretty productive though, and hung out since Mike and Liz had an early flight the next day. Overall it was a great visit! I did learn a few lessons though:
1) my bed is not big enough to share comfortably for 7 days
2) my hot water runs out after 4 people shower
3) the reallly good weather comes just after people leave
4) I am a bigger geek and more obsessed with being a tourist than most people in London, visiting or local
5) my siblings get embarrassed when I start reading from a tour book in the middle of a museum educating them about "Ginger", a mummy from over 5,000 years ago
I'm soo glad they came! I can't wait for more visitors!!
