We we were all just sitting around the office talking about how we all wish we could leave early. I said, well when I was at our parent company based in DC, Mr K, the CEO, used to let us out early at the first nice day of the summer, or for Halloween, etc etc. Then I had a monster idea! Let's see if he'll show us the same privilege (since the London office doesn't get out on the nice days that the DC office gets).
So I sent this email to his assistant (M is our CEO, but he's out today, and Mr. K is the big big CEO of the parent company and who M reports to):
Hi D,
I just thought Mr K might be interested to know that it’s one of the first BEAUTIFUL days in London. It’s sunny and about 70 degrees, clear blue skies, and happy faces all around!! ALSO, its half term which means that there’s basically no one in the offices. You know we only get about 5 nice days of the year, so I just thought I would spread the good word. J
If there are any announcements that Mr. K wants to make to the london office about enjoying a beautiful day, I’m sure we’d be happy to hear it J J
THANKS!!
Kat
Ps I would harass M with this but he’s on holiday
Well wouldn't you know I got an out of office from her! So I said, screw it, let's take this right to the top. So I forwarded it to Mr. K and sure enough her replies back:
I get it. You can close at 3 pm and enjoy the beautiful day!
HOLLERRR!!! So we are out of here in like 3 hours to go enjoy the day! Let's just hope it stays nice haha.
Tomorrow I'll update everyone on my latest adventure (sure to provide many awkward and embarrassing stories)... I'm online dating. Ugh.

Haha, way to go! If there's two things I admire about you, it's your courage and directness.
So glad he's letting you leave early!!! Enjoy the nice weather!
Charmed I'm sure.
Just so you know. It's been beautiful here. For a week. And we haven't had early dismissal once.
Grrrr...
